The School of Economics, University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, was founded in 1963. At the beginning, the School offered only a Bachelor of Economics Program in Finance and Banking. Later, three more programs were offered as follows: Business Economics (1969), Economic Theories (1977), and International Trade (1977). In 1983, an evening program was initiated in accord with the university policy to provide more opportunity for working people who wanted to pursue their degree in economics. Two major evening courses were offered at that time; Finance and Banking and Business Economics. Then in 1979, an evening program in International Trade was included. In 2012, the School’s latest program in Economics of the ASEAN Economic Community will be the first launched in response to the changes in the regional economic situation.
